Job Description Are you a creative and experienced mechanical engineer who can design and develop innovative solutions for the mining industry? Do you have a passion for learning new technologies and finding better ways to optimize performance and efficiency?
We are looking for a mechanical engineer who can use SolidWorks to create 3D models, drawings, and simulations of heavy equipment for mining applications. You will also be responsible for preparing BOMs, conducting test fractures, and performing stress point calculations. You will work closely with our metallurgy, hydraulics, VFDs, electrical, gear boxes, torques, sizing, and capabilities teams to ensure the quality and functionality of our products.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- At least 2 years of proven experience in designing and developing heavy equipment for the mining industry
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and other relevant software tools
- Knowledge of metallurgy, hydraulics, VFDs, electrical (foreign / domestic), gear boxes, torques, sizing, and capabilities
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- A competitive salary between $90,000 and $115,000 per year based on your experience and skills
