We want you to applyJob Summary and QualificationsAs ourCentral Sterile Supervisor, you willbe responsible for the daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department. Specific duties include but are not limited to working closely with the OR, OB, ED, and all other departments (i.e. cardiopulmonary) when trays and instrument problems occur and reporting missing or broken equipment to appropriate individuals. · Perform all functions of SPD Technician. · Work with OR Materials Manager and RNs to place new instruments in appropriate place. · Participate in AM report to OR staff and inform Core Instrument Tech and SPD Staff of information obtained from report. · Work closely with OR Specialty Coordinators maintaining trays, equipment, and storage of instruments. · Supervise department staff and act as a resource and clinical role model to staff. Participate in orientation of new personnel · Order needed supplies from Materials Management or outside vendors · Maintain biological test records. · Work with OR Clinical Coordinator to arrange time schedules and scheduled days off ensuring that department is adequate covered. · Clean, prepare and sterilize instrument trays according to procedure cards. · Responsible for proper cleaning and operation of the Steam and ETO Gas Autoclaves, Sonic Cleaner, and 4-cube washer. · Responsible for mechanical, chemical and biological testing of all autoclaves, as established by the department policies and procedures. · Assist with inventory of packs and supplies; check expiration dates monthly. · Assist in developing instrument sets, count sheets and update trays as necessary. What qualifications you will need:Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT), or Certified Registered Central Service Technician is requiredMinimum one year sterile processing experience preferred.Ability to maintain a mature, professional manner and demonstrate sound judgement when dealing with hospital personnel.Reston Hospital Center has provided quality healthcare services since 1986.
