This position will be responsible for executing automation projects within the McKinney factory. The Automation Systems Engineer will work for the McKinney Automation Systems Engineering Manager, and will collaborate with local factory leadership, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, operations, supply chain, and front end of the business Automation Lead to execute automation development and deployment and incorporate advanced Smart Factory/Industry 4.0 technologies as well as identify opportunities for process improvements via lean techniques.Qualifications you MUST have:2 years professional experience as it relates to engineering, manufacturing, operations and/or automation. Typically requires a University Degree in STEM( Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) or An Advanced Degree in a related fieldThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a Secret security clearanceExperience in automation systems design, development, deployment, validation and/or sustainment in a factory setting with emphasis in electrical controls including, automation systems (torque controllers, robots, vision systems, PLCs, etc.)Experience with process integration and electromechanical / mechatronic systemsExperience in mechanical and/or electrical design, computer vision, artificial intelligence, or other related field.Qualifications we Prefer:knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls and software engineering terms and principalsKnowledge of Electrical Standards (NFPA79, National Electric code, UL508A).Understanding of automation programming environments including ladder logic, function block, and pythonKnowledge of Safety standards (ANSI/RIA15.06, OSHA).Leadership skills, especially in managing dotted line relationships across multiple disciplinesTechnical background with an understanding or hands-on experience in software, firmware, and electronics developmentProven analytical and organizational skillsAbility to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skillsExperience working in Agile teamsExperience working in SAP Manufacturing Execution SystemsFamiliarity with Industry 4.0 / Smart Factory concepts, Digital Manufacturing SimulationTo realize our full potential, RTX is committed to creating a company where all employees are respected, valued and supported in the pursuit of their goals. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
