Summary:This position is responsible for identifying opportunities and implementing solutions to improve the overall efficiency, productivity, and quality of Personal Lines Operations with a focus on process improvement, vendor, and expense management.Analyzing business processes and workflows with the objective of finding how they can be improved or automated.Participating and maintaining automation initiatives.Utilizing data to provide analysis and valuable insights to leaders within the department to drive strategic initiatives and data backed decisioning.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Track, monitor, measure (through metrics) the effectiveness and success of business initiatives, programs, projects, and business operations.
    • Track and monitor PL Underwriting/Operational metrics and trends.
    • Identify, evaluate, recommend, and communicate operational analysis and insights to management.
    • Participate in the analysis of the department's reporting.
    • Make recommendations to mitigate PL expenses.
  • Maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly assessments of organization's performance against productivity, efficiency, expenses, and operational goals. Participate in the analysis and development of recommendations to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Participate and maintain the automation initiatives with a focus on process improvement and reducing expenses.
    • Partner with leadership to establish and maintain policies and procedures for consideration, evaluation, and qualification of new technologies.
    • Able to identify new automation ideas for the department and share with management. This includes process mapping of current and future state workflow, developing ROI's, metrics, and models.
    • Conduct quality audits on all implemented automation processes to ensure proper execution, quality, and accuracy.
    • Work with business partners (Emerging Tech, Data Science, Research and Development, Operational Excellence) to identify and implement improvements and/or tools & technologies.
    • Monitor and report on the activity within the automation space to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Participate in corporate and personal lines business initiatives.Identify, evaluate, implement, and communicate business processes necessary to achieve the objectives and to create processes that will ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage the execution plan for all operations enhancements. Determine metrics and reporting to monitor performance of enhancement. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Work with PL Management on various business areas to address operational needs and identify potential improvements.
  • Participate in and conduct annual planning. Establish operations initiatives in conjunction with the personal lines strategy.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Participate in the evaluation and analysis of new and existing vendor products and services, including cost-benefit, return on investment, and overall business impact.
    • Provide ongoing support of the existing vendor products, problem solve and troubleshoot production issues, maintain service levels and reporting.
    • Assist with product and underwriting as vendor liaison on current vendor reports and agent/customer experience questions.
  • Optimize report ordering processes and expenses working in conjunction with product and underwriting.
  • Manage Personal Lines Underwriting programs, including but not limited to Underwriting Decision System and Inspection workflow.


What You'll Bring To The Company:

Experience
  • 3-5 years in analytical, financial, or operational position
  • Continuous improvement experience preferred
  • Experience implementing Robotic Process Automation (RPA), VBAs, or other automation preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Solutions oriented with a curious and analytical mindset
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to convey findings from complex data sets with the use of easy-to-understand charts, graphs, or other visuals. Ability to derive insights from data and draw suggestions based on trends.
  • Understanding of databases and dashboard tools available
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders
  • Proficient in Excel with VBA experience as a strong plus
  • SQL experience is a strong plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work both independently and within a collaborative team-oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, concentration in Business, Logistics, Economics, Risk Management, or related degree.
