Electrical Engineer Intern

Saronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionizing defense autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations for the Department of Defense (DoD) through autonomous and intelligent platforms.Job OverviewWe are seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our R&D team. This role is ideal for a motivated student with a strong foundation in electrical systems and a passion for innovation, preferably in maritime autonomy. You will work directly with the Electrical Engineering team to support the design and development of advanced electrical systems for autonomous surface vessels and contribute to the performance and reliability of our solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers, collaborate on cross-functional projects, and gain hands-on experience integrating electrical and mechanical systems. All responsibilities will be supported and mentored by experienced engineers. ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with internal/external customers and coworkers to establish the required functionality of electrical and electronic systems and componentsPerform the research, analysis, testing and proof-of-concepts required prior to final designCollaboratively design, code, and test the C/C++ and assembly language programs required for PCB testing and product firmwareWork with colleagues to create test regimens, hardware and software as neededPerform full functional test of components with diagnosis of faults and modification as neededProduce documentation for the testing, fault diagnosis, and normal use of the designPerform all clerical functions needed to order components, produce parts, and establish parts in inventoryPerform product life cycle support functions such as technical support and failure analysisCreate detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts to guide the installation and assembly of electrical componentsConduct testing and troubleshooting activities to validate the performance and reliability of electrical systems and resolve any issues or malfunctionsCollaborate with software engineers to develop and implement software controls for electrical systems, ensuring efficient and safe operationsStay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering, maritime technology, and autonomous systems, and apply this knowledge to improve the design and functionality of our vesselsParticipate in project planning, provide technical expertise and guidance, and contribute to the overall success of the team and companyQualificationsHigh School diploma or GED and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related degreeAbility to travel as needed>Saronic does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, age, national origin, marital status, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other reason prohibited by law in provision of employment opportunities and benefits.
