MC2 is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a full-time opening in our Engineering department, located at our facility in Derby, KS. Job Summary:

Responsibilities include schedule preparation, pre-planning and resource forecasting for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project. They may also be in charge of performance management of suppliers pertaining to project activity. They assure the accuracy of financial forecasts, which tie-in to project schedules. They ensure projects are completed according to project plans. The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for internal company coordination and overall quality control of engineering deliverables. The Project Engineer will also be the customer technical point of contact for specific projects.

Job Functions:

Essential:**

Works with Project Management to establish projects and schedules.

Take leadership of assigned projects.

Proved tasks, schedule, and guidance to engineering group.

Assures compliance with DRM, project requirements, and design requirements

Holds regular design reviews.

Creates design guidelines and establishes improvements from project to project

Develop mechanical and electro-mechanical products that support customer requirements

Assure product quality by confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation process

Prepare product reports

Marginal:

Performs other related duties as deemed necessary or as required.

Job Qualifications:

Skills:

Skills expected include strong design skills; ability to take project from concept to completion; strong verbal and written skills; and the ability to read prints and manufacturing documentation. SolidWorks skills in sheet metal, molds, and part design; good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel are required.

Education

:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent combination of education, training and experience required .

Experience:

Minimum of 7 years mechanical design highly preferred, preferably in aircraft cabin or similar systems. Significant experience with SolidWorks and 3D modeling in support of detail, assembly, and installation layouts. Understand principles of standard numerical analysis methods. In addition, a successful candidate will have an understanding of Failure Analysis, Inspection methods, Non-destructive Testing, investigation techniques, and more. Employee is expected to acquire the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably well within 90 days in the position.
