THE ROLE:

We seek a skilled and passionate Stream Engineer Level I to join our team and support our streaming and broadcast engineering operations. This role will primarily focus on providing Tier 2 support for live events and will also involve key tasks such as testing with league partners, participating in R&D projects, and collaborating with Stream Operations, Logistics, Production, and Engineering teams. This role has a knack for streaming technology and enjoys working in a dynamic live environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for Tier 2 support on live events
• Flexible with shift scheduling, work over weekends/nights
• Assist with Feed Partners testing
• Assist with Hands On R&D projects (also assist Broadcast Systems Engineer) • Work with Logistics and Production for upcoming flo-produced events
• Collaborate with Stream Operations on improving day to day processes
• Triaging for escalation and documenting initial root causes in real-time
• Possible travel for encoder installation & testing

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficient in streaming protocols such as RTMP, SRT, RTP, WebRTC, and Zixi.
  • Skilled in using encoding software including vMix, OBS, Tricaster, and more.
  • Experienced with encoding hardware such as TVU, Videon, Haivision, etc.
  • Solid networking knowledge.
  • Understanding of analog and digital signal flows.
  • Familiarity with Zixi/ZEN Master.
  • Knowledge of AWS services including Medialive, Mediatailor, MediaStore, S3, and EC2.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members on Root Cause Analysis.
  • Proficiency in alerting and monitoring tools such as NPAW YouBora, Orion, DataDog, and ZEN Master.
  • Proficiency in operational tools including Jira, Confluence, Salesforce, Google Workspace, VoIP, and Domo.
  • Capable of tracking and resolving bugs on encoders and cellular bonding devices.
  • Understanding of CDNs such as Fastly, Cloudflare, Akamai, and Cloudfront.
  • 1+ years in Remote Production
  • 3+ years in Live Event Support
