Senior Level Mechanical Engineer (Commercia HVAC)

Are you a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with a passion for energy efficiency and building optimization? Global Facility Solutions invites you to join our team as a Senior Level Mechanical Engineer. In this leadership role, you'll spearhead projects, leveraging your expertise to enhance building performance and reduce operational costs.

We have an immediate need for an experienced HVAC Mechanical Engineer to join our team of professionals in this fast-growing Energy Engineering business. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with 7 years of experience working with the design and engineering of commercial building HVAC systems, energy evaluations and energy savings calculations. The ideal candidate would be familiar with the design of commercial HVAC systems and possess the ability to identify building operational issues as well as potential Energy Conservation Measures. Candidate will have the opportunity to work on various projects with HVAC systems and building operations including MEP design, commissioning, retro-commissioning, energy audits and building operations trouble shooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and engineering efforts of HVAC systems for commercial buildings, prioritizing energy efficiency and optimization.
  • Conduct energy evaluations and perform savings calculations, identifying and implementing Energy Conservation Measures.
  • Provide leadership on diverse projects including MEP design, commissioning, retro-commissioning, energy audits, and troubleshooting building operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

GFS operates nationwide as an independent and objective solution provider. The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Experience with the design and engineering of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems for the commercial and governmental markets including general office buildings and educational buildings.
  • Experience with and ability to develop HVAC drawings from concept through construction documentation using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with commercial building mechanical systems such as HVAC, motors, distribution systems, central plants and control systems. Knowledge of HVAC equipment such as chillers, boilers, air handlers and chilled/heating water distribution networks, pipe and ductwork sizing.
  • Experience with performing cooling and heating load calculations using Trane Trace or Carrier HAP including building energy saving simulations and energy savings calculations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field.
  • Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial HVAC systems design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Trane Trace & Carrier HAP Software, and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent written/verbal communications skills
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work for any employer in the United States. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to provide sponsorship or assume sponsorship of employment visas.

Some overnight travel is required.
