Logistics Coordinator I

Position Summary
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the administrative support needed to ensure efficient operations within the Logistics Department.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
* Locate tracking numbers on freight carriers' website
* Quote shipments using online tools
* Maintain freight in transit (FIT) report based on tracking updates
* Enter freight forwarder information into a database
* Assist with monthly reporting requirements
* Provide shipment proof of delivery to customer service and accounting
* Respond to Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) code email questions
* Follow up on shipment errors and damages
* Book upcoming shipments with correct route and mode
* Schedule container deliveries and maintain a container utilization report based on weight/volume
* Communicate accurate ship dates and potential bottlenecks to internal departments
* Perform other duties as needed by management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* 3 to 5 years of purchasing and logistics processes knowledge
* Effective communication skills including technical writing
* Practical problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize, plan and organize
* Capable of following oral and written instructions
* Ability to work autonomously and adapt and learn quickly
* Capable of communicating frequently with multiple departments in a professional manner
* Bilingual in English and Spanish
* Broker Import & Export experience
* Can meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Educational & Certification Requirements
* Associates' degree preferred or equivalent experience
Software Skills
* Sound knowledge of MS Office applications with the ability to create reports and presentations
* Experience working with an ERP and Transportation Management Systems
