The project involves combining system performance program work at all transmission and distribution substations. The program is focused on driving the execution of design and engineering deliverables specific for each substation. This multifaceted program has numerous workstreams and is focused on enhancing substation performance, protection and control system performance and distribution system performance. The Project Engineer will be the facilitator in resolving complex issues in several technical areas requiring advance knowledge and experience. The successful candidate will perform engineering responsibilities providing guidance and direction to both internal staff and external consulting engineers and designers. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. 5-10 years’ electrical design engineering experience. MicroStation/CAD skills. Power system protection and relaying knowledge and experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work independently with minimal guidance but knows when to get others involved. Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external clients. Ability to prioritize and organize work to manage multiple projects. Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to plan; ability to discern problems that need immediate attention versus those that allow more time to resolve. Proven interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to share vision and goals. Ability and willingness to develop strong internal and external client working relationships. Adaptable and flexible in a changing and evolving environment. Your Responsibilities Include: Manually and electronically designs detailed drawings, such as wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and mechanical systems for portions of large and/or complex substation projects. Evaluates engineering work and supporting documents to verify conformance to industry codes and company specifications and standards. Development of substation engineering physical design packages Create and modify the following detailed drawings and documents on substation projects: construction/operating one lines, general arrangement plans, elevation plans, conduit plans, steel details, foundation details, bill of materials, etc. Evaluates complex technical issues that require highly specialized knowledge in very specific areas and recommends actions or programs for their resolution which may necessitate the review/evaluation of engineering design documents. Participates in technical and industry societies and committees to enhance knowledge of new technologies or issues in area of company interest. Participates in department/project management, planning, and monitor performance for the accomplishment of committed results. What’s in it for you?
