Nursing Faculty

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Nursing Division Chair, the Nursing Faculty & BSN Program Director will be responsible for overall leadership, development, direction, and administration of all aspects of the accelerated and traditional nursing program. The director is responsible for ensuring that the program follows all statutes and regulations set forth by the Kansas State Board of Nursing and remains in compliance with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) regulations. Additional responsibilities include collaboration with the Division of Nursing's dedicated clinical coordinator, simulation coordinator, and program evaluator on a regular basis. Full search will begin in January with the role being filled for the 2024-2025 academic year. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plan, manage and evaluate all aspects of the program including, but not limited to: * Faculty and staff Curriculum development and implementation. * Program admissions, recruitment activities. * Coordinates program, personnel and facilities with other allied health programs. * Compliance with Board of Nursing statutes and regulations. * Compliance with CCNE regulations. * Maintain knowledge and currency regarding the program and the policies and procedures by which it is administered. * Responsible for leading and developing policies and procedures, planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating all aspects of the BSN program. * Oversee the coordination, development, and approves student assignments and clinical rotations. Coordinates academic schedule. * Coordinates and oversees orientation of new faculty. * Chairs BSN faculty meetings. * Makes periodic visits to clinical facilities * Assigns faculty and student mentors * Ensures ongoing program evaluation; takes appropriate action to resolve problems or nonconformance items. * Assists with identification and contract negotiation for use of clinical facilities; assures that contracts comply with Board of Nursing regulations. REQUIREMENTS: * Master's degree in Nursing. Earned Doctorate (DNP, PhD, EdD) preferred. * Holds current RN license to practice in Kansas and Missouri. * Prior teaching experience, higher education teaching experience with experience teaching and leading at the bachelorette level required. * Familiarity with CCNE accreditation standards. * Familiarity with MOKAN & Clinical student is a plus. * Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team in a professional and confidential manner is required.
