ABOUT THE POSITION With over 430 retail stores worldwide, our associates are essential to our business. From ensuring product availability on the sales floor to creating eye-catching visual displays, addressing customer inquiries, and running an efficient checkout process, our associates create memorable customer experiences while supporting Columbia Sportswear Company's mission of "Connecting Active People with Their Passions." As a Retail Associate, you will represent our company, brands, and products to our consumers. You will serve customers and share product information to help them find items that meet their needs. Retail Associates support the flow of products into the store and onto the sales floor to ensure product representation and accessibility. You will contribute to store profitability through accurate and efficient processes and assist the Store Leadership team in supporting our mission. HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE Maintain store cleanliness, visual merchandising, and safety standards; restock merchandise from stockroom and inventory locations. Perform cash register transactions (sales, returns, exchanges) accurately and efficiently; connect customers to loyalty programs. Support store profitability by accurately receiving and processing incoming and outgoing products. Assist customers by answering questions about product features, benefits, and availability; ask questions to understand their needs and support buying decisions. Uphold Columbia's values to enhance the customer experience and teamwork. Acquire knowledge about products, policies, procedures, and programs to execute daily operations effectively. REQUIREMENTS No specific education required; High School Diploma or GED preferred. Up to 2 years of experience in retail or related fields. Experience in customer service and interacting with consumers. Skill in operating inventory and point-of-sale (POS) systems and other retail software tools. Must be at least 16 years old. JOB CONDITIONS Active environment requiring constant movement; may involve physical tasks, lifting up to 40 lbs, use of specialized equipment, and exposure to dust and noise. Occasional work in various locations or environments. Clear communication skills. Flexible schedule availability, which may change seasonally or based on business needs, adhering to all applicable laws.
