Dean - Merze Tate College

Job Description:
Advances the mission of the College and the University, along with advancing WMU's Strategic Plan 2022-32.
Provides visionary leadership to advance the student success initiatives within Merze Tate College
Develops and assesses student support programs
Collaborates with staff and university faculty to develop and implement strategies for student recruitment, retention, and engagement
Serves as a visible and engaged advocate for the college
Provides fiscal oversight of Merze Tate College within the WMU budget model and also will actively engage in fundraising and development activities to support the vision and mission of the college.
The successful candidate will be positive, forward-thinking, creative, and committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Short Job Description:
Earned doctorate or other terminal degree in a related field from an accredited institution
Record of research and creative scholarship to warrant rank as a tenured full professor
Record of excellence in administrative leadership
Professional career activities demonstrating the highest ethical standard
Demonstrated commitment to professional accountability, including personnel development and staff success
Demonstrated knowledge of trends in, and leadership of, multi-faceted student success and retention programs
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Record of administrative experiences in a university or college setting, including management of budgets and personnel
Demonstrated ability to foster interdisciplinary community partnerships and student success programs to advance organizational goals
Excellent analytical, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills that are adaptable to a diverse range of audiences
