Purpose:
To support the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum in telling the story of the Royal Canadian Air Force training during World War II
Duties & Responsibilities:
Development of recruitment materials, such as posters, PSA’s and pamphlets
Research may be needed to identify the target market for particular volunteer positions
Distribution of recruitment materials to appropriate locations
Coordinate and report all recruitment activities to the Executive Director
Plan and Coordinate with Executive Director any recruitment events or volunteer fairs
Follow up with new volunteers to ensure they have received appropriate orientation and are happy with their assignments/tasks
Identify and task appropriate number of volunteers to support designated events throughout the year, primarily June - September.
Time Requirements :Flexible hours, some weekend work may be required. Time commitment of one to three hours per week during recruitment campaigns
Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and present professional image of the Museum to the public
Effective written and oral communication skills are required
Creativity and innovating ideas are an asset to this position
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan events and campaigns
Orientation & Training:
Two to three hours of museum orientation and history of the Commonwealth Air Training Plan
Supervision:
Reports to the museum Executive Director
Supporting Policies:
Museum Ethics policy and Volunteer program
Working Conditions:
Office environment, primarily working independently
