Job Summary and Qualifications The Inpatient Rehab Director ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Director monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Master's Degree in Business or Healthcare related field with an administration focus required.
  • Clinical undergraduate degree in Rehabilitation specialty preferred.
  • 3-5 years of administrative experience in Rehabilitation or Acute Care with Rehabilitation responsibility required.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in management of a variety of clinical staff required.
  • Proven ability to coordinate clinical services with ancillary services in a hospital setting required.
  • Knowledgeable in all federal, state and local regulations and guidelines pertaining to rehabilitation services.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and conflict resolution skills required.

What you will do in this role:

  • Create an environment and culture that enables Rehabilitation Services to fulfill the mission of Skyline Medical Center and meet or exceed its goals.
  • Manage the development and implementation of the rehabilitation strategic plan, being consistently aware of the changing rehabilitation market.
  • Maintain responsibility for the financial viability of Rehabilitation Services, coordinating the submittal of accurate and timely billing and clinical information.
  • Develop and strive for achievement of financial objectives, including the development and implementation of budgetary guidelines. Direct and manage the resources of Rehabilitation Services in an ethical, viable manner. Provide input for the negotiation of rehabilitation specific rates in negotiated payment structures/contracts.
  • In collaboration with the Medical Director and other clinical staff, assure the development of quality rehabilitation programming to meet market needs.
  • Ensure the supply of appropriate resources to support the programs, services, organizational structure and staffing levels necessary for quality rehabilitation services.
  • Actively encourage the integration of rehabilitation services into the continuum of care of Skyline Medical Center and community.
  • Establish operations and processes to support, facilitate, and maintain uniform performance of patient care including documentation.
  • Provide a safe, secure, and infection/hazard-free environment.
  • Direct the development, implementation, and monitoring of the quality management plan for rehabilitation services, including outcome measurement. Facilitate interdepartmental performance-improvement/customer satisfaction activities.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of rehabilitation operational systems and leadership on a regular basis.
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards in customer service through all interactions with the patients, families, coworkers, staff, other hospital departments, physicians, community and all others.
  • Create a high quality, professional clinical environment to facilitate the necessary recruitment and retention of appropriate numbers of qualified staff. Ultimately responsible for the timely assessment of competencies and performance of all staff. Facilitate ongoing educational opportunities for the staff, as well as patients, professional associates, physicians, and the community.
  • Maintain overall ethical compliance with regulatory/accreditation agencies and other payor sources.
  • Represent Rehabilitation Services to the management of Skyline Medical Center.
  • Act as an advocate for Rehabilitation Services to Skyline Medical Center and the community.
