Responsibilities Test new and existing systems to ensure safety and reliability of the system. Creating and executing flight test and evaluation plans. Log flights in a detailed manner. Report test findings to the engineering team for iterations. Preferred Qualifications Enjoy work that gets you away from a desk and out in the field. Experience in commercial aviation or aviation maintenance. Ability to follow and repeat a checklist in the same way. Prior flight test or hobbyist flight experience. You have the vigilance and focus to conduct extended daily flight operations in a safe manner and with a focus on optimizing them. You are meticulous and process-oriented by nature. Compensation $14-18 / hr Expected hours: 10-30 hr / wk Who are we looking for? As a flight operations engineer, you would have the critical task of testing new and existing systems we build for our operators to ensure that the system is both safe and reliable. This will include following preflight checklists and ensuring accuracy, performing test flights and test scenarios common to operational environments that our end users will experience. Your work will directly improve the success, reliability, and overall experience of our end users through your feedback and ideas to the engineering and customer success teams. About Us Uniform Sierra was founded in 2021 by two students at Purdue University to provide adaptable, affordable, U.S. built drone hardware to business and government clients. Since its founding, Uniform Sierra has served both Federal and State agencies through products like the Arrowhead - Tactical indoor sUAS and various training and contracting projects.
