The Procurement Specialist serves as subject matter expert for the procurement system of record with respect to setup, enhancements, maintenance, end user training, etc., assists with vendor management, and supports procurement initiatives with research, analyses, and process definition.

Procurement Specialist Responsilities:

Gather, interpret, and analyze expenditure data, identify trends, and recommend options designed to maximize cost savings, minimize add-on charges, and ensure quality of procured goods and services.

Create and distribute meaningful, timely reports and information to community leaders and respond to subsequent inquiries as needed.

Create, maintain, and disseminate detailed procurement documentation inclusive of policies, procedures, templates, etc.

Develop and maintain procurement process and training manuals, train end users on the procurement platform, and provide on-going support as requested.

Assist with evaluation and negotiation of contracts with new or existing vendors with the goal of maximizing cost containment across the organization.

Steer sourcing initiatives for existing communities, integrating communities, or new developments.

Monitor and manage vendors by reporting on supplier performance, compliance with contractual obligations, and performance metrics, report internally as appropriate, and lead supplier reviews to discuss findings and create solutions for enhancements and improved performance where needed.

Participate in or lead a variety of procurement-related projects as assigned including market research, cost analyses, and process improvement initiatives.

Monitor rebate conditions and ensure credits are received and applied appropriately.

Work with Group Purchasing Organization, as needed, to maximize efficiencies and cost savings available under their purchasing program.

Skills and Qualifications:

Associates degree in business with bachelor’s degree preferred

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement with healthcare experience preferred

Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and conceptual thinking skills

Experience with contracts and vendor management

Excellent oral, and written skills including documentation skills

Advanced skills in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookHigh technical aptitudeExcellent planning, organizational and time management skills

Professional and polished customer-focused skills

Physical Demands include: Standing, Walking, Sitting, Bending, Reaching, Pushing, Pulling, Climbing Stairs, Grasping, Manual Dexterity, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Vision Acuity, Talking, Hearing.
