FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Rotating

  • 50/50 split between 2nd shift and 1st shift. The benefit of this position is that it has a set schedule, so you would be able to plan around which weeks you are working evenings and days.
  • 2 weeks in a row of 2nd shift oncology/BMT (2-10:30pm, Monday-Friday)
  • 2 weeks in a row of 1st shift floats - could be oncology, BMT, outpatient infusion center, or inpatient med/surg shifts (roughly in that order of priority for coverage based on keeping other floats proficient in oncology areas as well)
  • 1 weekend every 4th week - the weekend is sandwiched between the 1st shift weeks. Weekend shift is 1st shift Oncology or BMT, 7-3:30
  • Rotate through one major and one minor holiday block each calendar year
Pay: $50.76 - $76.14 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
  • State licensure as a Pharmacist and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
  • Preferred: Inpatient pharmacy experience.
  • Preferred: Prior oncology experience isn't required, but a desire to learn and be trained in oncology and BMT is a must.
  • Preferred: PGY1 residency or equivalent experience.
Summary:

Cover shifts for med/surg, central, oncology and BMT shifts in the inpatient setting. May be trained to also cover oncology infusion shifts for any of our 4 Metro Denver oncology infusion locations (Cherry Creek, Highlands Ranch, Lonetree, and Central Park).

Responsibilities:
  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication regimens to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual medication-related problems.
  • Provides patient care by initiating, modifying, and monitoring medication therapy through approved mechanisms that may include therapeutic interchange, collaborative practice agreement, or other strategies.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical professionals, students, and patients.
  • Collaborates with care team to develop, implement and evaluate medication management quality improvement efforts.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
