ExoTerra is a world leader in solar electric propulsion systems and space exploration satellites. The company develops Hall Thrusters, propulsion modules, microsatellites and launch vehicle upper stages. We have been awarded multiple propulsion module and satellite contracts. Candidates must have experience with electric propulsion, and have a strong spacecraft electrical engineering background. Job Summary We are in need of a Chief Satellite Systems engineer to oversee propulsion module and microsatellite systems engineering lifecycle development efforts. The Chief Satellite Systems engineer will be responsible for oversight of company activities involving documenting, deriving and tracing requirements for the program, performing system level trades, tracking system resource budgets, performing reliability and failure modes analyses, building interface control documents, supporting major reviews and deliverable documents, supporting risk/mitigation management and verifying requirements are met. Qualified candidates should have experience with spacecraft and requirements documentation and verification. This position is senior-level technical and qualified candidates should be capable of working with minimal executive level supervisory direction. Responsibilities and Duties Using industry standard tools, the chief satellite systems engineer will be expected to perform job duties under general executive direction to complete detailed spacecraft electric propulsion systems engineering lifecycle leadership tasks. Review and approve documented design and implement necessary design changes to spacecraft propulsion systems to meet Design for Manufacturing and Design for Test principles. Lead analysis of propulsion system performance data, electric and magnetic fields using industry standard methods and tools. Ensure designs and builds meet customer requirements. Oversee testing on spacecraft propulsion systems ranging from electrical design, thermal design, fluidic system design, performance measurements of all propulsion subsystems to environmental testing. Ensure documentation of test results and customer requirements analysis, decomposition, verification and validation, and assist with the development of production procedures for designs. Lifecycle experience designing and testing electric propulsion subsystems is preferred. Work with manufacturing team to implement and improve designs and propulsion subsystem builds. Required Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or closely related field (Master’s Degree preferred) 17+ years’ experience in space industry Experience with Electric Propulsion highly desired Experience with product development lifecycle management tools (i.e. JIRA, Solidworks, MatLab, LabVIEW, MS Project) Location: Littleton, CO (Required) Desired Qualifications and Skills Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or closely related field Experience with Hall Thruster Design, Analysis & Test Experience with plasma, magnetic and electric field analysis Experience with Detailed part drawings and drawing release processes Experience with designing for the space environment Experience with EMI/EMC analysis and/or testing, shock, vibe, Thermal Vacuum (TVAC) Demonstrated excellent communication skills Experience with Electric Propulsion: 10+ years (M.S.
