DescriptionBlackburn, Childers & Steagall, PLC is seeking a motivated Tax Manager in our Boone, NC office.As a member of our growing firm, you will experience meaningful and challenging work, recognition, competitive salary, benefits, retirement plan benefits, flexible work schedule, career development, family-friendly atmosphere.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Manage and mentor members of Tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagementReview and manage tax engagementsAssume full responsibility for directing large engagements and special assignmentsSupervise the assignment of duties to, and the training of, staff and senior accountants assigned to engagementsMaintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the Tax processDemonstrate a high level of technical proficiencyDemonstrate an understanding of business issues relating to complex transactionsWork and communicate effectively with clients to enhance their understanding of business and tax issuesMonitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to the tax teamReview and correspond with the IRS and Department of Revenue as it relates to audits and notifications.Demonstrate an awareness of firm software packages and the ability to use such software effectively and efficientlyEducation and Experience Required:Bachelor's degree in accounting required; master's degree in accounting preferred5 years of experience in preparing and reviewing individual, partnership and corporate tax returns with a familiarity of payroll tax, sales tax and general bookkeeping.Current CPA license requiredCore ValuesBalanceWe before MePremier ServiceStewardship#J-18808-Ljbffr
