We are seeking a hospitable, experienced barista to join our bustling breakfast and lunch operations at The Clover and the Bee.

The Clover and the Bee is an independently owned neighborhood caf based in Webster Groves. Open for breakfast and lunch 7 days a week, our Italian-inspired menus change throughout the seasons and showcase the best of local and imported ingredients we can find. We offer an extensive coffee, tea, cocktail, wine and beer menu in addition to our food. We are a counter-service restaurant with an indoor dining room, two patios, as well as a walk-up window. We're fortunate to be at a busy intersection with schools and neighborhoods in walking distance, but also to be so supported by our local community.

Baristas and daytime servers work in tandem to ensure our guests want for nothing, that service is run efficiently, that the counter and coffee areas are organized and tidy, and that orders are completed accurately. On any given shift, there are 1 to 2 baristas whose primary responsibility is to make all coffee, tea, and bar drinks, and the rest of the FOH employees will work the counter or window. Servers not working the coffee bar will be responsible for running food and delivering to-go orders, ensuring dine-in guests are satisfied, and assisting with keeping the dining room and patio tidy.

For baristas, we are ideally seeking candidates with at least 2 years of experience as a professional barista working a manual espresso machine. Barista applicants with skills in latte art and recipe development are highly valued.

For daytime servers, we are ideally seeking candidates with 1 to 2 years of experience as a server in a full-service restaurant or as a counter employee. Applicants will ideally have a social bone, a heart for hospitality, as well as an interest in food and the desire to expand knowledge of ingredients and food preparation techniques.

Typical hours for the position will start between 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. and end around 3:00 p.m.

Baristas and daytime servers will earn a base rate plus tips - after tipout, baristas and daytime servers average between $19.00 and $25.00 per hour.

The Clover and the Bee is part of the O+O Hospitality Group, a collective of independently owned restaurants in Webster Groves with just under 250 employees. Full-time employees in the O+O Hospitality Group are offered medical, dental, vision, and life insurance after 60 days on the job. Full-time employees also qualify for paid maternity/paternity leave.
