The C. Harper Auto Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warranty Clerk to join our dynamic team. As a Warranty Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing warranty claims, ensuring they are processed accurately and in compliance with General Motors (GM) warranty policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, possess strong organizational skills, and have a thorough understanding of GM warranty guidelines. This position involves close collaboration with our service department to gather necessary documentation, communicate with GM, and handle warranty claim follow-ups efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Warranty Claims Processing: Accurately prepare, submit, and monitor warranty claims to GM, ensuring compliance with all manufacturer policies and procedures.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain and organize all warranty-related documents, including repair orders, parts returns, and communications with GM representatives.
  • Communication: Collaborate with service advisors, technicians, and the parts department to gather required information for warranty claims. Communicate effectively with GM warranty representatives regarding claim statuses and additional information requests.
  • Compliance: Stay informed on the latest GM warranty policies and guidelines. Ensure all claims adhere to current requirements and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all warranty claims, including payment histories, denied claims, and follow-ups.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyze warranty reports for the service manager, identifying trends and areas for improvement in warranty processing.
  • Training: Support training efforts for service advisors and technicians on warranty claim procedures and requirements.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college or technical coursework is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a warranty clerk, preferably within a GM dealership.
  • Strong knowledge of GM warranty policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and dealership management systems (DMS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
