Wellfound is hiring full time Health Unit Coordinator to join our inpatient team. This is a Per Diem position, variable 12 hour shifts, minimum of 4 shifts worked per month.Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Tacoma, Washington. We are Department of Health and Joint Commission accredited. We are an acute care psychiatric hospital providing care to both voluntary and involuntary patients.At Wellfound, our approach to treatment emphasizes whole-person centered care that supports wellness and recovery. We believe in a team approach to care which includes our amazing providers, nurses, mental health technicians and therapy team members.Position information:Supports patient care in the performance of general clerical, reception and scheduling duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The incumbent fosters positive customer relations and communications.Union MembershipAs a condition of employment, you must join the SEIU Union within thirty (30) calendar days of employment and remain a member in good standing of the Union, unless you submit and are approved for a religious exemption.Essential Job Functions :Enters/transcribes orders into information system and on appropriate forms so that patient information is current; communicates orders to involved department(s) as necessary.Performs receptionist duties at the assigned station; handles incoming and outgoing communications, transfers calls appropriately, answers questions and assists visitors in accordance with established procedures. Gives messages to patients and staff membersUpdates and verifies patient data in information system; maintains unit specific records as assigned.Aids in making appointments if requested.Maintains a neat and organized work environment; orders, stocks and replenishes supplies and equipment as necessary; identifies and reports problems with supplies or equipment; enters equipment repair requests in system, tags equipment and removes from service.Maintains a safe work and patient environment, adhering to the hospitals Safety, Risk Management, Regulatory Standards and infection prevention.Participates in quality assurance/improvement initiatives and activities. Participates in growth opportunities.Work at Mental Health Tech as needed until scheduled staff arriveComplete bed board and EVS application sin EPIC for bed cleaningProvides customer service and meets patient needs as requestedCommunicates with dietary regarding meals when neededDelivers labs specimens as requestedAssists in obtaining required patient informationCompletes insurance verification and registration of patients in I&A completely.
