Job Title : Business Systems Analyst
Duration : 12 months right to hire
Location : St. Louis, MO (Chesterfield)
Schedule : Hybrid – 3 days remote/2 days in office
Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
General Statement Of Duties
Plans and directs analysis of complex business problems in coordination with business units and the IT staff to ensure new products and enhancements are fully researched, designed, planned, developed, documented, and tested according to Company’s System Development/Acquisition Life Cycle. Lead quality and test activities for software releases. Provide research and support to operations for end-user issues.
Responsible For
Independently strive to understand the underlying business processes supported by internal applications,
Learning business systems and processes,
Actively use standard project templates for base project artifacts (Requirements Traceability Matrix, Estimation, Work Plans and Resource Planning),
Learning and actively using Company’s project management tools and systems, and
Become proficient in using Company’s Task Management System (TMS) to manage and track all aspects of new system functionality or changes to existing functionality.

Technical Skills:
Working knowledge/experience in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, and SQL is required. Adobe Acrobat and Team Foundation Server knowledge preferred. Experience in requirements gathering and analysis, writing functional/technical specifications, and user interface development. Basic knowledge of HTML and programming techniques would be a plus. Experience using SharePoint would be a plus.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, IT or related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum of 7 or more years of experience in business analysis and/or software product design. Experience working with the student loan or banking/financial industry would be a plus.
Communication Ability:
Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Project Management Ability:
Strong knowledge of the software project management lifecycle, and methodologies including Waterfall and Agile. Able to work effectively with developers and management to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget range. Able to conduct Return on Investment (ROI) and other financial analysis to support project funding/prioritization. Experience with CMMI or ITIL would be a plus.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Applies sound decision-making processes to provide vetted recommendations to prospective solutions.
