Description
The tax analyst is primarily responsible for compliance, workpaper development, account reconciliation, audit support, tax-notice response, and initial research related to multi-state sales tax. In addition, this position will work on various other tax projects and monitor our tax department email.
- Prepare and manage sales tax returns for various entities and file in a timely manner.
- Manage, respond to, and resolve state and local tax inquiries.
- Coordinate and complete state/local tax audits.
- Research and correct process errors that caused incorrect tax filings.
- Perform tax research.
- Advise management on the impact of new tax laws.
- Update the company sales tax database as tax rates change.
- Oversee the maintenance of customer sales and use tax permits, as well as our entities.
- Proactively work with customers to address sales tax exemptions as they near expiration.
- Tax accounting reconciliation on a monthly basis.
- Manage property tax filings.
- 1-3 years of tax accounting or sales tax reporting experience is preferred but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred, or a tax concentration within an accounting program.
- Must be detail oriented, with excellent organizational skills as well as an ability to handle a large return volume while meeting all filing requirements.
