CUSTODIAN - Full Time position available Monday - Friday

COMPENSATION

$15.50 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining a safe, hygienic and sanitary environment in buildings assigned by immediate supervisor. Responsible in maintaining a safe, clean outdoor environment and ensuring that all buildings are accessible and safe to use.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

1. Clean and sanitize bathrooms, showers, locker rooms, kitchens, and health office daily, as applicable. Check soap and paper dispensers daily and refill as needed.
2. Clean, vacuum and dust offices and common areas. Perform high and low dusting weekly.
3. General floor maintenance: sweeping, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming.
4. Sanitize hand contact points daily including phones, door handles and switch covers.
5. Spot clean doors, glass, walls as needed.
6. Assist with major cleaning tasks such as washing windows, walls etc.
7. Sanitize, scrub, and seal ceramic tile floors as needed.
8. Spot clean and shampoo carpets as needed.
9. Assist with refuse removal.
10. Assist in maintaining sidewalks to keep free of snow and ice.
11. Attend to emergency housekeeping.
12. Assist with lawns, flowerbeds, play areas, and around buildings and ensure areas are well trimmed and free of debris.
13. Assist with team projects and routine maintenance projects as needed.
14. Maintain all work areas and equipment to be safe and sanitary.
15. Request supplies and make recommendations for replacement of items beyond repair.
16. Assist housekeeping staff as needed.
17. Maintains First Aid/CPR certification as provided by the agency.
18. Attend all mandatory in-service training and regularly attend supervision meetings. Attend other training and in- services as needed to maintain a level of expertise in the field.
19. Any additional duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

SKILL, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education and/or Professional Qualifications/Skills
•High school Diploma/GED

10. Must have a valid driver's license, adequate auto insurance and meet the criteria for driving set forth in the New Directions Driver's License policy, if driving agency vehicle or own vehicle on company time.
11. Ability to pass annual physical for Category 2A job classification in accordance with New Directions Employee Health policy.
12. Must comply with Agency safety standards and be responsible for own actions and conduct concerning safety and healthy working conditions.
