The Role
This is an opportunity to join MarketAxess financial reporting team as a Financial Reporting Associate. The role will be a vital part of the financial reporting and finance teams. Ideal for a proactive problem solver who thrives for continuous improvement and challenges the status quo.
How You'll Help Take Us There
- Prepare quarterly and annual SEC (10-Q & 10-K) filings, including financial statements, footnotes, and management's discussion & analysis.
- Assist with review of XBRL tagging of financial statements and footnote disclosures for the quarterly and annual SEC filings.
- Work with internal and external auditors to furnish requested information in a timely manner for the quarterly reviews, annual audits and internal controls testing.
- Assist in accounting analysis of transactions and in preparation of accounting policy memos.
- Keep current with SEC and Financial Accounting Standards Board issues and interpretations, and suggest enhanced disclosures, if applicable.
- Prepare annual benefit plan financial statements and footnotes.
- Assist the regulatory reporting team with broker-dealer reporting, including monthly FOCUS reporting, quarterly 17H reporting, and semi-annual financial statements and footnotes preparation.
- Assist with special projects, as needed, providing answers on a timely basis to a variety of financial and accounting questions.
- Support the month-end financial close process by ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and policies and preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for certain areas.
- 2+ years of experience in public accounting and/or SEC reporting
- Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with stakeholders across the Finance and Legal departments
- Self-motivated and proactive, with strong attention to detail
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong proficiency using MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- CPA strongly preferred

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $85,000 USD to $120,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. You may also be eligible for annual cash incentives, equity, and other benefit programs.
