Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing client, a publicly traded technology solutions provider in the north suburbs of Chicago.

Responsibilities

• Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close tasks.
• Prepares monthly journal entries, revenue accruals, account analysis, reconciliations, and monthly close tasks as assigned.
• Review customer contracts and billings to ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Review of monthly revenue, bookings, and backlog for accuracy.
• Create new projects in accounting system and various other schedules.
• Prepare customer invoices by reviewing customers purchase order.
• Ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards under ASC 606.
• Monitor accounts receivable and perform collection duties when invoices are past due.
• Review subcontractors bills to identify items that require invoicing to customers and any possible over and above charges.
• Perform analysis of projects to monitor progress, profitability, and comparison of actual costs and time spent to estimated amounts.
• Review payroll timesheets.
• Review accounts payable tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of Accounting experience.
• Cost accounting and fixed assets accounting experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with an ERP, preferably Epicor, as well as MS Excel.
