Serves as a resource to all hospital departments, participating in identified projects or groups related to Infection Control. The IP Coordinator role involves review of microbiology for surveillance per NHSN criteria, NHSN data entry and report analysis, environmental rounding on hospital units for compliance with hospital policy, The Joint Commission, OSHA, state and local requirements, and staff education to policy & procedures. Qualifications Job Requirements: Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Clinical Microbiology or other health-related science required. Master’s in Nursing, Education, Epidemiology, Public Health, Clinical Microbiology or other health-related science preferred. Experience: Two (2) to five (5) years clinical experience in a health-related field required. One (1) year experience in Infection Prevention or epidemiology. Technical Skills: Computer proficiency to include word processing, spreadsheet, and database. License/Certification: Current State of Nevada License in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Sciences or other related health science if applicable.
