BEL USA has 3 core verticals - DTC (selling primarily to SMBs and consumers via e-Commerce channel), Wholesale and Marketplace. The company's products are sold to small-and-medium businesses and direct-to-consumer, and are typically used as marketing collateral (e.g. custom pens at medical offices, custom water bottles at trade shows and company events) or for special events (weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, etc).

BEL USA's unique vertically integrated model, allows the business to bypass several layers of the traditional supply chain by sourcing blanks (undecorated products) directly from manufacturers, facilitating customer designs through its digital platform, decorating promotional products in house and shipping directly to its customers, which provides significant and unparalleled value to its customers.

Job Summary: As the Managing Director of Analytics & Insights, reporting to the CEO, you will lead our efforts to transform complex data into actionable insights that are easy to understand. You will play a pivotal role in driving our organization's short- and long-term strategic decisions by delivering analytical solutions. Your analytical acumen will underpin crucial decision-making processes and be pivotal in driving BEL's growth.

  • Collaborate with the CEO, the executive leadership [ELT] and the Business Intelligence Manager to translate complex data into simplified reporting.
  • Craft compelling stories from data that highlight key business opportunities and challenges, providing the CEO and ELT with clear, actionable insights.
  • Partner with the Business Intelligence Manager to design and implement robust data analytics systems and predictive models that support strategic initiatives and business growth.
  • Be hands-on and create draft reports and analytics using Power BI, SQL, Excel , SPSS and any other relevant tools prior to working with Business Intelligence team to operationalize the reporting
  • Automate reporting for weekly and monthly updates required by the Financial Planning and Analysis team for transparent view of business performance and risk factors
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with various teams across the organization to ensure strategies are well-aligned with overall business objectives based on data. Champion the integration of data-driven decision-making within the across all divisions.
  • Adhere to legal and ethical standards concerning data privacy, including GDPR and CCPA, especially in handling customer information.
  • Establish and maintain policies regarding data accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and completeness to ensure reliable data management practices.

Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or higher is preferred.
  • Certifications like Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Google Analytics IQ, or others related to specific tools or methodologies used in analytics are a plus.
Experience & Skills Required:
  • 7-10 years in analytics or a related field, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role overseeing analytics teams.
  • Strong expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, predictive analytics, and data interpretation.
  • Exceptional ability to narrate a story through data and convert complex findings into simple conclusions and clear strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Strong expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data-mining techniques.
  • Experience working in DTC e-commerce strongly preferred whether B2B or B2C.
  • Experience leading and developing a team of analysts or data scientists.
  • Proficient in analytical tools and software (e.g., R, Python, SQL, Tableau, SAS).
  • Strong foundation in statistical tests, distributions, maximum likelihood estimators, etc.
  • Experience in the marketing domain, understanding of market dynamics, customer behavior analytics, campaign analysis, etc. particularly in reference to e-commerce businesses.
  • Proven track record of managing analytics projects from conception through execution, including defining KPIs and ROI analysis.
  • Ability to align analytics initiatives with broader business goals and strategic plans.
  • Strong ability to communicate technical data insights to non-technical stakeholders to influence decision-making.
  • Ability to approach complex business problems analytically with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Can adapt to changing business needs and continuously evolve techniques and strategies in data handling.
