POSITION: Sales and Marketing Coordinator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist with sales and marketing functions to maximize effectiveness to achieve business goals, with special emphasis on the local business market.
Key responsibilities include event private event sales, sponsorship coordination and assisting special event opportunities.
Comfortable conducting any private event outreach that includes "cold calling", following up on referrals and actively looking for opportunities to "upsell" existing clients.
Conduct market research to gather leads, identify trends, and competitor activities for potential private events.
Create contracts and follow processes for booking private events that includes coordinating and managing all information into the facility's booking system.
Prepare and execute private events, special events and sponsorship proposals.
Execute fulfillment of sponsorship contract terms that includes maintaining database and tracking system of current and potential sponsors.
Assists the Director of Marketing & Business Development that includes weekly status updates.
Assist with marketing plans, which include grassroots initiatives, social media, and eblasts.
Help implement and maintain outreach to major organizations within the community to grow databases.
Maintains a professional and courteous attitude in all dealings with patrons, promoters, vendors, co-workers, and senior management.
This position has the possibility of working long hours, which include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or University in Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field preferred
Minimum of 2 years' experience in Marketing, Public Relations or Sales in entertainment industry or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience requirement
Exposure to and familiarity with similar facility environment

Skills and Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
Basic understanding of demographics and media buying ability

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database software, spreadsheet, graphics, and word processing software.

Other Qualifications

Ability to work irregular hours in addition to normal business hours as needed to cover events.
