Overview: As a leading media conglomerate in New York City, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Technology to oversee and lead our technological operations. The Director of Technology will play a crucial role in driving innovation, managing IT infrastructure, and implementing cutting-edge solutions to support our diverse media platforms and business functions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the technology strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives. Provide leadership and vision to the technology team to drive innovation and efficiency.
  2. IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of all IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud services. Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and reliable to support the company's operations.
  3. Digital Media Technologies: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in digital media, broadcasting, and content delivery. Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance our media platforms and user experience.
  4. Team Management: Build and lead a talented team of technology professionals, including software engineers, systems administrators, and support staff. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  5. Vendor Management: Evaluate and negotiate contracts with technology vendors and service providers. Manage vendor relationships to ensure deliverables meet quality standards and budget requirements.
  6. Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect against cyber threats and ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to safeguard company data and assets.
  7. Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Develop and manage the technology budget, including forecasting expenses, allocating resources, and optimizing cost-effectiveness. Ensure investments align with business priorities and deliver measurable ROI.
  8. Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with senior management, department heads, and external partners to understand technology needs and priorities. Communicate effectively to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in technology leadership roles within the media, entertainment, or broadcasting industry.
  • Strong technical expertise in IT infrastructure, software development, and digital media technologies.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading technology initiatives, from strategic planning to implementation and optimization.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset to address complex technology challenges.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to technology and media.
  • Certifications such as PMP, CISSP, or ITIL are a plus.
