About the Job:
The Kennel Assistant serves as support to clinical staff and plays a vital role in patient care. Kennel Assistant must value the highest standards in quality of care while also respecting the personal limitations that may impact the decisions made by our clients.

As the Kennel Assistant you will be responsible for:
  • Assisting with appointments and communicate with clients both in person and on the phone
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the hospital, including laundry, washing dishes, kennels and runs.
  • Providing essential patient care, including feeding, bathing, clipping nails, and exercise of patients
  • Ensuring that treatment areas and exam rooms remain fully stocked
  • Taking direction from, and performing duties as instructed by Veterinarians and other technicians as needed.
Compensation for this role falls in between $18.00 - $20.00 hourly.

About You:
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different communication styles
  • Knowledgeable in basic animal husbandry including handling and restraint
  • Ability to accurately carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Work history demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills as well as a strong sense of personal accountability
  • Must be able to handle several tasks and deal with an environment of changing priorities
  • Previous experience in a boarding facility or veterinary hospital or similar is preferred, but not required.
