Houston, Tx RQAW Corporation is currently seeking a environmental NEPA specialist to join our Houston, TX office. This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join our team of outstanding professionals in a growing department. The individual will complete work associated with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) NEPA regulations, assist with public involvement, and other aspects of NEPA regulations. Responsibilities Conduct various environmental analyses (field and desktop), develop recommendations, and prepare technical reports under National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and applicable state regulations and programs. Prepare NEPA documentation including Environmental Assessments (EAs), Categorical Exclusions (CEs), and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs). Conduct Section 4(f) and Section 6(f) coordination and documentation. Provide quality assurance and quality control for all final products to ensure technical accurateness and regulatory compliance. Assist Project managers in coordinating assigned projects with client, local government agencies, and designers as necessary to promote the project schedule. Assist in the preparation of proposals and other marketing endeavors. Attend client meetings, including project kick-offs, update meetings, field reviews, etc. Conduct desktop studies using ArcPro GIS software. Review and interpret planning studies and/or preliminary design plan sets or concepts. Interact with coworkers, designers, clients, regulatory agencies, and sub-consultants to achieve project objectives. Attend continuing education opportunities and maintain current certifications. Assist other team members with various NEPA studies. Requirements BS in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field. Requirement: 2+ years of experience with NEPA, as it relates to transportation projects. Ability to work in a team environment. Assist with field work in a variety of seasonal conditions. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Local and occasional statewide travel is required for this position.
