Summary

R/GA Australia are looking for an ambitious and proactive Associate Software Engineer to join the Technology team focusing on the backend. This role will work with the Technology Lead and Lead Engineer to build innovative projects and opportunities across one of our most important accounts. An

Associate Software Engineer

An Associate Software Engineer wanting to work with the latest full stack technologies, frameworks, guidelines and security practices. They will be part of a team that would build and maintain their own product features. This role is focused on learning and supporting the engineering best practices of backend services, composable architecture, microservices and CI/CD principles to deliver secure, scalable, world-class software. Here’s what you should know if you want to be a Associate Software Engineer at R/GA: On any given day you might:

Work with teams across multiple offices, collaborating with multiple disciplines. Participate in ideation, understand feasibility conversations and help prototype concepts in collaboration with other engineers and designers. Be willing to learn coding best practices and appropriate design patterns to ship high-quality, modern software. Provide clear, cohesive, comprehensive and well-written technical documentation at all times, in-code files and external documentation (diagrams, technical design document, technical approach). Accountable for individual daily tasks, while communicating progress, blockers, and goals clearly with the bigger team. Help scope & estimate user stories as appropriate Work with wider project teams to review designs and ensure they are technically feasible and account for scenarios and edge cases. Partner closely with peers, Producers, BAs, and QA engineers to ensure that acceptance criteria of user stories is being properly met and verified throughout the development process. The Ideal Person

Has strong oral and written communication skills, and can convey information in a clear and concise manner. Has excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Is comfortable working within highly collaborative hybrid-agile teams, taking accountability for the work you do and communicating risks/blockers/opportunities in a timely manner. Is outspoken and highly collaborative, acting as an active participant in shaping the culture and ways of working for cross-functional teams. What you must have:

Good level experience in Typescript and Node.js Experience with Microservices Api-first Cloud-Native SaaS Headless (MACH) Architecture Experience developing with React and Next.js Experience with integrating RESTful and 3rd party APIs. Experience of Azure or similar Cloud Computing services and products like (Azure API Management, Azure Biceps, Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines etc.) Good experience of GitHub or BitBucket or similar code repositories. Good Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JS, Typescript preferred etc.). Knowledge of implementing responsive and adaptive web solutions. Knowledge of CMS/Personalisation platforms such as HyGraph (or similar headless CMS), Sitecore Personalize (or similar experience based Personalisation engine) etc. What you may additionally have:

Experience with government related work. Experience working with remote teams (city to city / country to country). Interest in trending or innovative technology solutions such as data and machine learning. Experience in developing applications on both greenfield projects & existing or enterprise applications. Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. You bring:
