About The Role FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring practice focuses on our clients’ strategic, operational, financial and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders. FTI Consulting’s Real Estate Solutions has a singular focus on the real estate and finance industry and the capital markets that serve it. Our services are designed to create integrated financial, tax and real estate solutions for clients having underlying value in real estate operations and assets. We provide an unsurpassed range of real estate advisory services including merger and acquisitions, due diligence, valuation, lease consulting, forensic accounting, financial outsourcing, IPO, REIT tax structuring and compliance, executive compensation, master planning and development services, cost segregation and private client services. We represent leading public and private real estate entities including Equity and Mortgage REITs, financial institutions, investment banks, opportunity funds, insurance companies, hedge funds, pension advisors and owners/developers. What You’ll Do FTI Private Client Tax Advisory Services has an exclusive focus on the needs of private clients, including high net worth individuals, their business interests, and family foundations. We provide a broad range of services to multigenerational families in all areas of personal planning, tax preparation, family office governance, and long-term wealth preservation. In addition, we are proficient in all areas of tax compliance and planning for a variety of entities, including trusts, foundations, partnerships, closely-held corporations, and charitable organizations. Our understanding of the relationships between various planning, tax, and administrative disciplines help us develop the most tax advantageous and effective ways to own assets and structure transactions to meet our clients’ unique needs. Responsible for a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope and act as the point of contact for internal and external clients; build and manage client relationships Lead team of tax professionals/assistants working on client projects Help manage risk and financial performance of engagements Review Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, Gift, Estate and Foundation tax returns Review supporting tax return work papers and documentation of all tax positions and conclusions Coordinate tax research and planning Participate in training or planning training content Work as part of a multidisciplinary team Stay current on relevant tax matters and new developments Demonstrate professionalism and collaborative skills in dealings with internal and external clients Use of technology to enhance and streamline the tax preparation and reporting process Develop potential opportunities and contacts for business development How You’ll Grow We are committed to investing and supporting you in your professional development and we have developed a range of programs focused on fostering leadership, growth and development opportunities. What You Will Need To Succeed Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting Education in compliance with CPA exam requirements/CPA License Excellent written and verbal communication skills 7+ years of post-graduate work experience Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Excel, MS-Word, and tax preparation software (GoSystem preferred) Strong accounting and organizational skills Extensive background in complex high net worth tax planning & compliance #LI-Hybrid #LI-AH1 Our Benefits Our goal is to support the well-being of you and your families—physically, emotionally, and financially.
