Role Overview:

As the first dedicated Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in establishing, shaping, and leading the DevOps culture and practices within our organization. This role requires a highly skilled professional with robust experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) methodologies. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure and operational processes to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage cloud-based infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) supporting real-time data analytics and machine learning operations. Develop and maintain scalable and automated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ensuring efficient code deployments. Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform to manage cloud infrastructure efficiently across environments. Lead monitoring, reliability, and security best practices for our production environments. Advocate and promote DevOps culture and practices, working closely with software engineering teams to enhance development pipelines through automation. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments, ensuring operational continuity. Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, and recommend tools and practices to improve our operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. At least 5 years of experience in a DevOps role, specifically in a cloud environment. Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform services and management. In-depth experience with CI/CD tools, particularly GitHub Actions. Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), primarily using Terraform. Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration. Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar. Experience with system monitoring tools and automated logging solutions. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with remote teams.

Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in Google Cloud Platform and Terraform. Experience in startup environments where rapid prototyping and iterative changes are common. Previous experience in setting up DevOps practices from scratch in a growing organization.
