Works to assist in retention of new employees, especially new graduate nurses. Demonstrates availability, approachability and high visibility. Varies timeStaff Recruitment and Selection: Assesses departmental staffing needs to determine recruitment priorities. Partners with HR in recruiting for the organization. Networks internally and externally to enhance candidate pool. Interviews and assesses candidaCustomizing Staff Development: Identifies staff educational needs and facilitates opportunities for staff development in collaboration with nurse educators. Monitors staff performance and compliance with policies and procedures to identify and addressEnhancing Unit Communication: Solicits interactive, varied communication to provide staff the opportunity to give feedback or make suggestions for unit or organizational-level initiatives. Develops effective and collegial relationships with key physiciaUnit Leadership: Collaborate with staff to develop, and reach performance goals supporting strategic nursing and unit-specific goals and activities. Develops leaders among staff, especially the Shared Leadership Committee.
