Business Manager, Surgical Services

Full-time- Day Shift

Oversees business functions of the Surgical Services departments. Coordinates and manages the Surgical Services business functions including case scheduling, data entry (procedure data and patient charges). Ensures maximum efficiency of surgery departmental resources through coordination of surgical scheduling. Assists in development and monitoring of the capital and operating budgets for multiple cost centers. Provides statistical record keeping and report writing, ensures accurate maintenance, processing, and reconciliation of charges and cost-containment efforts. Has line responsibility for FTEs in designated areas.

Job Duties:
  • Collaborates with the Department Director by contributing to strategic initiatives, individual hospital budgets, policies, guidelines, and overall business management of Surgical services
  • Establishes and promotes relationships with clinical team members, physicians, and Medical Practices to produce an effective team model for business operations
  • Assists in development and monitoring of the capital and operating budgets for multiple departments
  • Actively participates in inventory reduction and cost-containment efforts
  • Performs financial analysis of expenses, revenues fiscal resources for multiple cost centers
  • Maintains surgical database with respect to patient information, surgical procedures, staffing, and/or any other information deemed necessary
Requirements:
  • High School /GED
  • 3 years' experience in healthcare/ medical terminology
  • Strong customer services focus
Preferred Requirements:
  • Management experience preferred
  • Proven experience in financial management, budgeting and strategic planning
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and business processes
