We utilize technology to support a remote workforce of approximately 100 Advisors. Our Advisors are trained and experienced public-sector professionals from a variety of relevant disciplines. We combine the strength of each Advisor's unique experiences, perspectives, and skills through teaming, leveraging their combined talents to benefit our partner agencies. While client-interactive work must be done during core business hours, there is flexibility to do other work elements on a personalized schedule to maximize flexibility. The Position Under the direction of the Director of Finance Services, the Senior Advisor provides comprehensive financial management services to solve a broad range of complex accounting and finance problems for local government partner agencies as a member of the Finance Services team. Responsibilities include managing fiscal operations of a wide variety and types of public agencies; leading teams of RGS accounting professionals, performing or supervising complex professional, supervisorial, administrative, and technical accounting and finance functions necessary to maintain the accounting and financial records and systems for local governments; advising public agency executives and elected officials; planning, organizing, and directing all financial operations. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL: Have strong leadership, analytical, and presentation skills. Have proven experience in evaluating, developing, and implementing local government and municipal financial and budgeting best practices. Engage City departments collaboratively to identify and strengthen fiscal processes. Analyze financial data and draw sound conclusions and offer improvements. Have experience thinking strategically to solve problems. Be a self-starter, flexible, reliable, and detail-oriented with high standards for work product. Excel at working both within a team and independently. Thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. Communicate complex technical issues and difficult realities knowledgeably and compassionately, in understandable language, to a range of audiences both verbally and in writing. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably with a major in accounting, business, or public administration; emphasis in accounting or finance is desirable. Five years of progressively responsible accounting or finance management experience at a Director or Department Head level in a public agency.
