This position requires applicants to be at least 21 years of age

We are looking for an energetic, outgoing, and experienced server for Scratch Gourmet Kitchen. This position will be responsible for greeting every guest when they arrive within 3-5 seconds, answering the phone, taking accurate orders, serving tables, and delivering completed orders to the guest while adhering to the Scratch standard requirements - all with a great attitude and smile.

Ideal candidate has strong multi-tasking abilities to execute both dining room service, take-out with walk-ins/ call-ins and ensure the front of house is kept in a clean and orderly fashion on a daily basis. Community is also important to us, so it is imperative that we find someone outgoing and positive to sustain our high-level customer service. Scratch was named the winner of the Best of Johnson County 2022 - Best New Restaurant and finalist for Best Of KC "Best New Restaurant". Scratch maintains a 4.8+ rating across OpenTable, Google and Yelp. We recently won a national award from Wine Spectator - Award of Excellence for our Wine Program.

We operate a 60+ by-the-glass wine program with more than 150 bottles on our extensive wine list. We will offer wine training onsite.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Greet all guests in a timely manner (3-5 seconds at most)
•Ensure that each guest has a positive, long-lasting impression of the Scratch experience
•Handle all orders and inquiries in a friendly and professional manner
•Ensure that we provide a quality product to all guests with quick and friendly service
•Immediately notify the Manager of all guest issues or complaints.
•Resolve low level guest issues with efficiency and a positive attitude.
•Ensuring compliance within all operations including maintaining the highest quality products and services
•Communicate effectively with all members of the Scratch team and community
•Ensure food is prepared to presentation specification, within its shelf life, and accurately labeled for the guest
•Follow restaurant standards, policies and procedures with all restaurant personnel
•Maintain front of house equipment maintenance, safety, cleanliness and sanitation standards according to code
•Cleaning of all restrooms and front of house with good safety and sanitation practices
•Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by health and safety standards
•Assisting with the organization of reach in coolers/ freezers
•Responsible for following instructions and carrying out assignments properly
•Ability to be seen as a positive role model
•Ability to maintain acceptable standards of workplace conduct
•Ability to be self-motivated and take initiative
•Maintains a calm, tactful demeanor when dealing with difficult situations
•Must maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times
•Must have an outgoing and positive attitude towards guest and employees

Education and Experience
•Minimum three year serving experience in dining room; casual fine dining experience preffered
•Serve Safe Alcohol Certified preffered
•Driver's License
•Quality control and consistency checks in food production
•Must have working knowledge of basic math application and computers
•Wine service knowledge preffered but not required
•Possesses good communication skills to work with customers and Scratch team
•Ability to direct the performance of the team and follow up with correction where needed
•Some hospitality experience preferred
•Maintains regular and predictable attendance
•Must have reliable transportation
•Must be 21+ years old

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
