Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities: Lead the on-site FSQA Technicians and oversee all daily procedures and processes regarding Food Safety and Quality performance. Oversee all aspects of daily FSQA duties across the operation, ensuring that our products meet or exceed food safety and quality standards. Measure statistical data, report findings and Key Performance Indicators and report findings and resulting corrective actions to mitigate and eliminate risks. Conduct relevant inspections and tests on raw materials, production equipment and tools, storage containers, etc. as needed per specifications. Provide guidance and leadership where deviations have occurred, or a potential risk has been identified related to food safety and quality attributes. Organize training lessons for new company procedures and reinforce existing procedures. Observe daily activities to Review and verify that facility’s SOPs match the actual operational activities. Inspect the production facility daily to ensure it complies with all applicable requirements. Observe employees during production to ensure that all FDA regulations, sanitation and safety guidelines are being followed. with the tasting process (before, during, and after) to ensure that all products are meeting company criterion. Review all customer complaints and determine whether the product complaints involve failure to meet any company specifications. Raise the appropriate CAPA to address the issue and craft communication back to the customer, when needed. corrective actions when needed. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word Other job-related duties as requested. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in food science or related field required. At least 5 years of experience in food quality assurance, food safety, and/or regulatory compliance roles. In-depth knowledge and certification of HACCP, GMPs, BRC/ SQF, and other food safety and quality assurance standards. Experience working with regulatory agency representatives such as USDA, FDA, SQF and/ or BRC certification requirements. Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading teams and driving results. Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Ability: Proficiency in English, both in verbal and written communication. Bilingual proficiency in a Spanish is highly desired. Must have PCQI certification.
