Night Shift: 12 hours 4 Nights ON and 4 Nights OFF 6:00 pm - 6:00 am Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not currently have any direct reports. Position Summary This position requires maintaining and operating of Metrolina Greenhouses' boiler systems, their components, and their associated equipment which includes biomass boilers, natural gas boilers, ESPs, wood and ash conveyor systems, large front-end loaders, and skid steers. It also involves performing regular inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role will be required to work 12-hour shifts in a rotation that adjust per season. Key Responsibilities A successful candidate should be capable of working independently without constant supervision. This includes managing tasks, troubleshooting issues, and making decisions in the absence of direct supervision. Must be willing and able to follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment Flexible working hours and overtime is needed as the system requires maintenance and operation outside of regular working hours Experience with front-end loaders and skid steers is necessary as this includes understanding the proper operation and maintenance of the equipment Trouble shoot issues and repair or replace components ensuring overall functioning within the system Other duties as assigned by management Minimum Qualifications Attention to detail Ability and willingness to work in confined spaces Mechanically inclined Ability to work unsupervised and independently Adherence to safety protocols Ability to work a flexible schedule Familiarity with large grading and loading equipment Willingness to learn and perform general maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and hydronic systems associated with the Boiler system Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Boiler maintenance and operations Welding Experience Electrical Experience Job Setting & Physical Demands This position is primarily outdoors but may be required to work between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, which may require the use of computers and standard office equipment. Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including dust and allergens. There are occasional needs to work in confined spaces. Position requires long-term ability for standing, sitting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Candidate must have the ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility, including but not limited to driving the scooter. Employee must have the ability to lift 35 pounds unaided.
