The focus of this position is to work on software engineering projects utilizing the Microsoft technology stack to migrate from old systems to new systems or to develop new applications, all in service to modernizing internal I.T. systems for NRG. Examples may include rebuilding legacy applications utilizing Azure functions, updating our company SharePoint sites, troubleshooting and improving our Salesforce or ERP platforms, and developing new internal applications as the need arises. This position will work on multifaceted projects having company-wide impact to create more efficient backend processes that support business functions. Working closely with other departments to understand business processes and the systems that support them will be critical in this position.
This is a full-time position in the IT department and reports to the I.T. Director. The Software Engineer will work in partnership with his or her team to achieve the goals of the department plan that are in line with company values, culture, and mission.
Responsibilities of the Software Engineer:
Maintain and enhance custom applications based on departmental priorities
Maintain and enhance core applications based on departmental priorities (Salesforce & ERP)
Participate in the design and development of new applications
Perform unit and system testing of all applications when necessary
Ability to learn and understand business processes
Interface with internal stakeholders to develop appropriate use cases and functional specifications
Participate in the design and development of user interfaces
Participate in the design and development of data models
Maintain Source code library of custom applications
Provide support on all existing custom applications

Requirements of the Software Engineer:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field plus 3 - 5 years programming experience strongly preferred.
Experience with C#, .NET framework, Visual Studio, Blazor, integrating api endpoints
Experience building web applications and api-based data solutions.
Understanding of data modelling and data object design
Experience with the following a plus: Azure, Business Central, Salesforce, MSFT SQL Server
Ability to be a self-starter and thrive in a self-directed environment
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and data gathering skills
Excellent oral and written communication
