Description

We are seeking a

Leave Specialist

to join our team to oversee and administer all leave requests, including but not limited to FMLA, short- and long-term disability, parental, military leave, etc. This position educates team members on leave processes and procedures and ensures compliance with all state and Federal laws as it relates to FMLA and other leave programs.
Responsibilities

Process and administer all types of leave requests, including but not limited to medical leave, family and medical leave, parental leave, personal leave, and military leave.
Collaborate with team members, managers, and HR partners to facilitate the leave process, including providing guidance on document requirements, timeline, and return-to-work procedures.
Provide counsel to team members and their managers on all aspects of the leave process.
Liaison with the third party leave and disability administrator to ensure proper administration of leaves of absence consistent with applicable laws and company policies.
Maintain reasonable communication with team members on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work, relaying communication between team members, their manager, and HR partner throughout the leave.
Coordinate with relevant departments, such as payroll and benefits, to ensure accurate and timely processing of leave-related information.
Facilitate clear communication between team members, their manager, and leave administrator vendor.
Identify gaps or opportunities for improvement to the leave of absence process and recommend solutions.
Identify and immediately escalate potential opportunities for risk/exposure to the organization during the completion of assigned duties.
Stay updated on changes in leave laws and regulations, including state/local paid leave updates, and communicate any updates or changes to the Team Lead and relevant stakeholders.
Respond to federal and state compliance and survey requests.
Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in leave management or a related HR role.
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws, including FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and state-specific regulations.
Strong understanding of HR policies and procedures related to leave management.
Highly organized, detail oriented, analytical, with good interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 products
