Sr. Buyer Planner

The Senior Buyer Planner is responsible for performing a wide variety of production planning activities and supports procurement, as required. Responsible for managing assigned product lines, commodities and supplier bases.
**Essential Functions**

* Attends and provides input during project meetings, production whiteboard meetings, sales/planning meetings and material shortage meetings
* Processes ECOs
* Releases and manages work orders and rework work-orders
* Supports Repair
* Forecasts updating in ERP
* Responsible for parts procurement, product on-time-delivery, materials on-time-delivery, linear shipment scheduling and processing non-conforming material
* Responsible for sales order ship date maintenance and establishing sales order shipment dates
* Provides NPI project support, as needed
* Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials
* Purchases materials, using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels
* Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards
* Develops specifications for new contract orders
* Obtains materials, components and equipment
* Evaluates vendor reliability, develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate
* Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value, and all other duties as assigned
Requirements **Required Education, Experience & Skills**
* Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Management, Supply Chain or a related field; or High School Diploma and equivalent work related experience
* Work experience in purchasing or in Supply Chain
* A minimum of 5 years of experience performing, purchasing, and production planning, or equivalent duties, preferably in an electronics manufacturing environment.
* Intermediate skill in all MS Office applications
* Must have strong communication, organizational & customer service skills
* Should have good computer knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Must be self-motivated with a high degree of integrity & be able perform job duties with minimal supervision on a timely basis
* Past job performance must reflect dependability, maturity, initiative, personal demeanor, & the ability to exercise sound judgment
* Ability to successfully lead, implement and complete projects
**Preferred Education, Experience & Skills**
* Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Fishbowl)
* Six Sigma or Continues Improvement experience
* Supply Chain Certificates
* Contract management
