SUMMARY:Micro Matic is a leading global manufacturer of bar and beverage dispensing equipment. The Purchasing Buyer is responsible for various assignments involving the procurement of material and equipment necessary for the operation of the company. The buyer is to procure all required materials and arrange for delivery within the defined OTD parameters, as well as on or below budget. The ideal candidate has experience in sourcing with a specific focus on machining, castings, forgings, and plastics. Professionalism, excellent communication skills, the ability to follow through and learn new tasks quickly is required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING

  • Reviews requisitions and planned purchase action messages for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepares and submits RFQs (request for quotation)
  • Evaluates quotes and makes awards accordingly under supervision.
  • Prepares and compiles quotes for budget review purposes.
  • Places purchase orders into the operating system and tracks to support demand.
  • Expedites deliveries as required.
  • Works closely with the finance/accounting team in the reconciliation of invoice mismatches as well as negotiation of payment terms with the supplier to assure prompt payment of invoices.
  • Coordinates movement of all purchased materials from suppliers and address any supply/supplier issues.
  • Supports other Purchasing personnel and internal organizations on operational projects as needed
  • Resolves receiving discrepancy issues.
  • Provides non-inventory purchasing support.
  • Performs Purchase Order (PO) and item master maintenance transactions in the ERP system
  • Updates POs with current delivery information.
  • Assures compliance with the Sales Forecast to plan and coordinate required planned purchase volume.
  • Reviews, verifies and maintains past due PO reports.
  • Supports QA Department supplier quality concerns with root cause and corrective action.
  • Grades suppliers via scorecard.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Experience in purchasing and data entry is required. Candidate is expected to work independently, be a self-starter, organized and detail-oriented. Ability to exert strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills. Report preparation skills, Analytical skills, Ability to interact with vendors and assists various departments, Ability to attend to details.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX(formerlyAxapta) is a plus.

The ideal candidate has experience in sourcing with a specific focus on machining, castings, forgings, and plastics.

EDUCATION: Associate degree; supplemented with 3+ years of related experience.
