Job DescriptionDEPARTMENT: FabricationJOB TITLE: CNC ProgrammerREPORTS TO: Shift FacilitatorSHIFT DAYS /HOURS: 3rd Shift 10 hr. shifts (Mon-Thurs) 9:00 pm- 7:00 am) Must be willing and able to work Mandatory OT on off days as necessary.STARTING PAY: Up to $27.41 per hour.What You Will Be Responsible For:Develop and optimize CNC Programs for Haas, Brothers, and DMG Mori CNC MachinesEnsure the maximization of new part developmentSupport the development of machines parts, tools, tooling and machine fixturesEnsure/verify machining programs - to ensure compliance to drawing and specification requirementsDetermine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpiecesPerform updates/improvements to programs to eliminate errors, and retest programs to check that problems have been solvedSupport with set-up documentation creation and controlComputes cutting speeds, feed rates and dimensionsPrepares and pre-sets all tools needed for machining operations Setup and adjust CNC MachinesSupport Set Up employees through normal trouble shooting issuesWork with Quality dept. to interpret layout dataPerform equipment/maintenance checksParticipate in Continuous Improvement activitiesWork independently and as part of a team.Assist other personnel and perform other duties as required per supervisor.Inform the Supervisor of any equipment problems or any other problems.Maintain a clean, clutter-free workstation. Able to participate in a collaborative environment. Comply with safety policies and procedures. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. Work Environment / Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning. What You Will Need:HS Diploma/GEDCNC programmingWorking knowledge of Horizontal MillsWorking knowledge of Vertical CNC Mills (3 and 4 Axis) Able to read and understand inspection toolsRead and interpret technical drawings and blueprintsPreferred experience with Haas, Brother and DMG Mori CNC Machining CentersStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively; self-motivated; self-starter. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented.
