We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer which will focus on building & maintaining tooling and infrastructure for the automation of release, deployment, and upgrade processes. This role involves collaboration with development teams, as well as providing expert consulting on automated build, test, and release automation. The successful candidate will be a crucial player in driving operational excellence, troubleshooting incidents, and continuously improving our DevOps platforms. Position works on-site and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain scripts & tools for provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and scaling of infrastructure components.
- Design, provision, monitor, and maintain the public cloud automation framework and infrastructure.
- Foster strong relationships with development teams to gain insights into code, dependencies, and infrastructure requirements.
- Collaborate with development teams to strategize deployment and capacity planning across various environments.
- Lead initiatives to enhance CI/CD environment provisioning and development workflows.
- Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems for all applications and infrastructure in a diverse environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, or related field required.
- 5+ years of experience as DevOps and/or AWS Solutions Engineer required.
- 2+ years of hands-on programming experience in languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, C++, or similar object-oriented languages.
- Proficiency in automating cloud-native technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), utilizing tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar.
- Experience in developing cloud-native continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows and tools, such as Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, Code Deploy (AWS), and/or GitLab.
- Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed application architecture, including containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology.
- Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices.
- Experience working in a production environment.
- Proficiency with monitoring frameworks such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Elastic, or similar.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Kibana, New Relic, ELK stack.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewall configurations.
- Experience with monitoring and log aggregating frameworks such as Kafka, Logstash, Splunk, Elasticsearch, and Kibana.
- Experience implementing and designing cloud-native security concepts, Dev Sec Ops, or ML Ops.
- AWS Certification(s) such as Solutions Architect Pro, DevOps Engineer Pro, SysOps Admin, Developer Associate.
- Strong presentation, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
