Specialty Consultants, the leading real estate executive search firm, is helping a vertically integrated multifamily real estate investment and development firm hire a Director, Research based in their Northern VA headquarters. The Director, Research provides detailed market analysis in support of land acquisition, development, and acquisition/disposition decisions, as well as company visibility. Manage and revise the market benchmarking/scoring system to rank each MSA, informing investment decisions. Maintain and update market dashboards for each target market. Manage the process by which teams proactively score potential development sites. Produce a quarterly report providing both data and written narrative to be distributed externally. Produce monthly topical research articles. Collaborate with VP of Communications to engage with media. Support capital raising efforts by attending investors meetings to discuss market dynamics and broader market trends. Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of experience analyzing markets, with an emphasis in multifamily real estate. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to work with executives and to coordinate a high volume of diverse assignments. GIS and Microsoft Office proficiency are a must. This is a highly visible role, and a unique opportunity for the Director, Research to be involved in the forefront of investment decision-making.
